The next thing I want to do on the scratchpad is check the status of the included genus names. As there are 101 genus names in Lycaenidae alone, this is going to take me a while. I will be using the "Butterflies and Moths of the World Generic Names and their Type-species" by Brian Pitkin and Paul Jenkins, available from http://www.nhm.ac.uk/research-curation/research/projects/butmoth/ to perform a check on the status of each genus name, and record the type-species.
When I first started the site, as suggested in the task guide, I was keen to make the site theme and logo unique. I have had quite a few problems doing this, due to my lack of experience with website building.
Changing the logo
I'll soon be moving to Malaysia, where I hope to continue my research with Lepidoptera (see my website for details of my projects: http://dnabarcoding.blogspot.com/). To educate myself on the local fauna, I have decided to start this scratchpad. It will be a mash-up of all the relevant information about each potential Malaysian species.
